"My wife and I have owned a caravan at Longlands for over 17 years, and although we have seen many changes, the park feels just the same as it did all those years ago. The park is well maintained and cared for by the staff and we look forward to every visit."

Don't Wait for the Sunshine!
Tags: June Blog
Whilst we wait in anticipation of the hot, sunny days of summer to arrive, there’s still plenty to do out and about in South Cumbria. If you’re planning a visit to your holiday home this weekend, you’re in for a treat. Take your pick from action-packed horse racing at Cartmel, arts and crafts extravaganza ‘Prom Art’, or ‘Woolfest’ the original British wool festival in Cockermouth.
Don't Wait for the Sunshine!

This weekend sees the introduction of a brand new 2-day June fixture at Cartmel Racecourse featuring the Festival Circus with the Big Top tent, located in the Course Enclosure which race-goers can enjoy free of charge. The two race meetings take place on Friday 26th June and Sunday 28th June. For more info visit www.cartmel-racecourse.co.uk

Also taking place during the weekend is WoolFest held at the Lakeland Agricultural Centre in Cockermouth. The festival celebrates nature’s finest fibre with over 170 producers and craftspeople.  There will be demonstrations, rare breed animals and wool craft inspiration for everyone. Visit www.woolfest.co.uk for event information.

For those with an interest in Arts & Crafts, a visit to the northwest’s largest outdoor arts & crafts event, Prom Art, is a must. The event is held along Grange-Over-Sands’ picturesque Edwardian promenade and takes places between 10am – 4pm.

If you are planning a day out on Windermere this Saturday, look out for the brave souls taking part in the Chill Swim; an early morning 1.2km Windermere cross lake swim that takes place from Brockhole to Wray Castle. Rather them than me! However, if you fancy a challenge, there are further events held later on in the year, visit www.chillswim.co.uk

And for those of you seeking peace, tranquillity and solitude, as the longest day of the year draws to a close, now is the perfect time to take advantage of the longer evenings and enjoy the beautiful surrounding countryside on the doorstep of Longlands.

Finally, don’t forget to check our ‘Upcoming Events’ page regularly for forthcoming activities and things to do.
